Bring on the Rain

I have just realised, it is raining! Without a storm! Just normal rain. It hasn't rained here without there being an accompanying storm for a couple of months or so! The ground really needs it. But the forecast is that it will get warmer again over the next few days, so it will be mid 90s again by the weekend. So this is only a brief respite from the relentless heat and humidity here. Guess I shouldn't complain though, the winter is apparently full of cold and snowy days, so I will probably be longing for the warmth then!

Heh heh ... it seems when you have proper seasons, that in summer you keep wishing for the coolness of winter, and in winter you keep wising for the warmth of summer. At least with the heat, everything is Air Conditioned (I'm pretty sure everyone has Central AC in Chicago, from what I remember?)

Do you like thunderstorms ... thunder and lightning, wind and rain and all of the excitement?

I love thunder storms. We have had some pretty amazing ones already since we have been here, but they are usually over very quickly.

Yes, everything is air conditioned here, which is great, apart from it then means that you forget just how hot it is outside, and so when you go out the heat hits you like a punch in the face!

Yeah, you definitely notice the heat more when you've been in the nice cool AC. My friend's glasses actually get steamed up!

I used to work at a camp each summer on the Michigan side of Lake Michigan, and we had some great storms coming across the lake. If you ever get a chance to hang out around Lake Michigan when there are storms around the area, it can be really neat to watch.

Would definitely be interested in seeing that.
